Worship Team Agreement
Of Fruitland Baptist Church

As an ever-growing church community, it is important that we clearly communicate the responsibilities and have clear expectations of our worship team. Both in your spiritual walk but as well as our personal expectations. The following describes those responsibilities/expectations.

We are grateful you have shown interest in wanting to serve the Lord and the church. Please take time reading through these responsibilities/expectations to see if this ministry is the correct fit for you. If you believe you may be best used serving elsewhere do not hesitate to contact Pastor Scott, Deacon Walter, or Deacon Wally to get involved at Fruitland Baptist Church.

Time Commitment

As you decide if the worship team is the right place for you to serve, please keep in mind the time commitment that will come with it. Practices will be held during the week on Friday Evenings starting at 6:30pm. You will also be expected to attend a rehearsal Sunday morning before service to run through and finalize the music.

Should practice need to be changed we will give proper notice to ensure all members are aware and we can find a different time to practice.

As important as group practice is individual practice is also expected. During the week you should be rehearsing the music selected for Sunday so we can focus on the group as whole Friday and Sunday.

  • It is also expected that you be active in your membership through attending gathering, when possible, expected to give regularly as the Lord leads you.

Spiritual Journey

  • Worship team members must have surrendered their life to Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. (Romans 10:9-10,

  • It is also expected that you proclaim your faith publicly through baptism. (Acts 2:38,

What is Worship?

  • Being a part of the worship team means worshipping and drawing others into worship.

  • A worship team member must be someone who worships out of the desire of their own heart. If we are to bring others into worship, we must first be worshipping and know what that looks like for each of us.

  • Worship is a continual basis, a lifestyle that is not limited to Sunday services. Personal worship during the week is vitally important as a worship team member.

What is not Worship?

  • Being a part of the worship team is not simply singing the songs and playing to notes correctly.

  • Worship is not a performance or a chance to get on stage to show off talent expecting praise while others watch.

  • Being apart of the worship team is not playing while others worship. We must be proficient on our instrument or with our voice to be able to enter worship ourselves.
